Transhumanists claim we find ourselves in the post-Darwin era. In this era man has developed so strong that we can shape our further evolution. The aim is to become posthuman: a person who has physically improved using computers, software and nanotechnology.
Although transhumanism balances between ‘science’ and ‘fiction’, we should not underestimate it. Many of the technologies that transhumanists predict have already become reality. Such as genetic manipulation, cloning, artificial limbs and heart valves. As we surround ourselves with technology more and more, do we consequently alienate from our nature? Does technology invade the individual? Will our autonomy be affected?
Is technology still a choice nowadays and how do we deal with it?
